Massage

Below you will find a list of all the Massage techniques I use and their benefits

Swedish Massage

Originally designed to simulate the effects of Swedish gymnastics, this technique provides the benefits of the effects of exercise. It is also a wonderful introduction to massage.

  • Relaxation

Deep tissue Massage

A technique that utilizes intense pressure along with slow pace strokes to remove dysfunctions lying within the muscle and fascia.

  • Improve blood circulation

  • Improve lymphatic circulation

  • Can be done with or without the use of oils

Lymphatic massage

This massage restores the functionality of the lymphatic system by stimulating the flow of lymph through the body. With gentle range of motion to mimic the body’s own natural pumping action, the client will practice deep breathing to help stimulate the lymphatic flow.

  • Reduce sinus congestion

  • Aid those with psoriasis

  • Assist those with lyme disease

Hot Stone Therapy Mat Treatment

In combination with a relaxing massage, this amethyst, tourmaline, and jade mat will be added to your experience. These heated gemstones release far infrared rays and negative ions and help to lower levels of tension and stress.

  • Helps lower levels of anxiety

  • Decrease inflammation

  • Counteract the positive ions we are constantly exposed to through electronics.

Myofascial Cupping

Cupping is an ancient method that uses negative pressure to loosen muscles. Unlike applying pressure downward into the muscle, cupping utilizes special cups along the surface of the skin to separate tissue, encourage blood flow, and relieve pain.

  • Helps break up adhesions

  • Separates layers of fascia

  • Encourages the gliding of muscle fibers

  • Aids lymph fluid away from compromised areas

  • Provides comfort and relaxation

  • Soothes skin from radiation

Prenatal massage

A pregnancy massage that focuses on addressing the special needs of expecting women. Specifically placed support pillows and side-lying postures are used to prevent putting pressure on the abdomen to keep the baby safe & provide relaxation for Mom.

  • Reduce insomnia & fatigue

  • Reduce swelling in the hands, feet, and ankles

  • Reduce sciatic pain

hydrotherapy

The practice of using water in one of its three forms (solid, liquid, vapor) within a therapeutic setting. I often utilize this in combination with Reflexology with a warming Epsom salt foot bath or sugar scrub on the hands.

  • Help relieve congestion

  • Reduce pain due to osteoarthritis

  • Increase blood circulation

Trigger Point

A specific technique that targets a point in one muscle that receives overuse or overload with repetitive motion. Often times trigger points can be found at the base of the neck and contribute to tension headaches.

  • Improve posture

  • Increase range of motion

  • Mental and emotional stress relief

Sports Massage

Sports massage is a wonderful way to help and maintain healthy muscle and connective tissue. It can also help decrease injury potential, but don’t think this is just a technique for those who are athletic. This is a wonderful way to help anyone who may be suffering from chronic stress or recovering from a traumatic accident.

  • Aid in rotator cuff injuries

  • Help those suffering from Scoliosis, joint defects, or bone defects

  • Decrease muscle fatigue

Strain-Counterstrain Technique

A technique that specializes in stretching the muscles before applying pressure. Always making sure it is within your comfort level, it is a comfortable and gentle technique that is still effective in pain management. This is a technique that can be performed with or without being undressed.

  • Reduce the pain caused by rheumatoid arthritis

  • Help those with fibromyalgia

  • Aid in restricted joints and “frozen shoulder”
